Half Day Doi Suthep Temple Tour

This half day tour takes you to Doi Suthep, a mountaintop temple overlooking Chiang Mai city. Hotel pickup

You are collected by hotel pickup in central Chiang Mai in an air conditioned vehicle, which carries you up into the hills as the city gives way to jungle covered mountain roads within minutes, climbing steadily toward Doi Suthep.

Climbing to the temple

At the base of the mountain, a flight of 306 steps lined with traditional Naga serpent sculptures leads up through the surrounding jungle to the temple complex. The climb is a short, moderately challenging walk that takes you past dense tree cover and glimpses of the valley, and the scenery along the way is part of the experience.

The temple complex

At the top, golden pagodas, ornate murals and statues fill the temple grounds, home to one of Chiang Mai's most sacred Buddhist sites along with a series of smaller shrines nearby.
