Kuwait — Visa Overview
About Kuwait
Kuwait is a small but extraordinarily prosperous and culturally rich nation at the heart of the Arabian Gulf — a country where ancient Bedouin traditions, a proud maritime heritage, and one of the world's most vibrant modern economies coexist in a uniquely compelling way. Situated at the northwestern tip of the Persian Gulf, Kuwait punches well above its size in terms of culture, heritage, and the warmth of its people — offering visitors an authentic Arabian Gulf experience that is both deeply traditional and confidently modern.
Kuwait City — the dynamic and rapidly evolving capital — dazzles with its iconic skyline dominated by the landmark Kuwait Towers, the shimmering Liberation Tower, and the grand Al Hamra Tower — one of the tallest sculpted skyscrapers in the world. The magnificent Grand Mosque — one of the largest in the Gulf — stands as a masterpiece of Islamic architecture open to respectful visitors, while the historic Sadu House celebrates Kuwait's extraordinary Bedouin weaving heritage. The Kuwait National Museum and the Bait Al Qurain Heritage House offer fascinating windows into Kuwait's pre-oil history and the daily life of earlier generations. The restored Mubarakiyya Souk — Kuwait City's oldest market — bursts with colour and fragrance, offering everything from traditional Arabic spices and incense to handcrafted gold jewellery and heritage textiles.
Kuwait's waterfront Corniche stretches along the Arabian Gulf offering spectacular views of the city skyline, particularly at sunset and after dark when the towers and skyline are illuminated. Failaka Island — a short ferry ride from the capital — is one of Kuwait's most fascinating and historically significant destinations, home to ancient Bronze Age settlements, a Greek temple from the era of Alexander the Great, and the hauntingly beautiful ruins of the old Kuwaiti village of Al-Zaour. The island has in recent years been transformed into an exciting leisure and heritage destination. The Ahmadi oil town — the historic heart of Kuwait's oil industry — and the vast Empty Quarter desert regions beyond the capital offer further dimensions to a destination that rewards the curious traveller. Kuwait's dining scene — from the legendary fish markets of the harbour to the world-class restaurants of the Avenues Mall — reflects a society that deeply values hospitality, generosity, and the finest food. Kuwait is a destination of genuine warmth, extraordinary history, and confident modern ambition — an often overlooked gem of the Arabian Gulf that richly rewards discovery.
What is a Kuwait eVisa?
The Kuwait eVisa is a fully digital travel authorisation issued by the Ministry of Interior of the State of Kuwait — operated through the official Kuwait eVisa portal — kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw. It is applied for entirely online and delivered electronically to the applicant's registered email address upon approval. The approved eVisa must be downloaded, printed, and presented at Kuwaiti immigration upon arrival alongside the valid travel passport. No embassy visit and no in-person appointment is required for eVisa applicants.
Important Warning — Official Portal Only: The official Kuwait eVisa portal is kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw — operated exclusively by the Kuwait Ministry of Interior. Rayna Tours submits all Kuwait eVisa applications exclusively through this official government portal. Applicants are strongly advised against using any third-party website claiming to offer Kuwait eVisa services.
