Manila has been the scene of many battles. From the Spanish colonial era to WWII to the Philippines' freedom struggle, Intramuros in Manila has been the hotbed of war activity. So a visit to the Baluarte de San Diego will be an interesting history lesson. There are informative plaques throughout, and you can freely roam seeing all the ruins. Apart from the ruins, you also have a beautiful Japanese cannon relic that’s worth seeing.
