Kenya — Visa Overview
About Kenya
Kenya is one of Africa's most extraordinary and iconic destinations — a land of breathtaking natural beauty, extraordinary wildlife, and rich cultural heritage that has captivated travellers from across the world for generations. Situated on the eastern coast of Africa, straddling the equator, Kenya offers an unparalleled combination of world-class safari experiences, stunning landscapes, pristine Indian Ocean coastline, and warm, welcoming people that make it one of the continent's most compelling and complete travel destinations.
The Maasai Mara National Reserve — one of the world's greatest wildlife sanctuaries — is home to the legendary Great Migration, where over two million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles cross the Mara River in one of nature's most spectacular annual events. Amboseli National Park enchants with its iconic views of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above vast elephant herds, while Tsavo, Samburu, and Lake Nakuru offer extraordinary and diverse wildlife encounters across Kenya's remarkable range of ecosystems. The ancient port city of Mombasa — with its UNESCO-listed Old Town, Fort Jesus, and pristine beaches of Diani and Watamu — offers a magical blend of Swahili culture, history, and Indian Ocean beauty. Nairobi — Kenya's dynamic and rapidly growing capital — is one of Africa's most vibrant cities, home to the world's only national park within a capital city, world-class restaurants, and a thriving arts and culture scene.
From the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya — Africa's second highest mountain — to the flamingo-lined shores of the Great Rift Valley lakes, from the tea plantations of Kericho to the traditional villages of the Maasai, Kenya is a destination of extraordinary diversity and depth. Welcoming, safe for tourism, and extraordinarily rich in natural and cultural heritage, Kenya rewards every traveller with memories that last a lifetime.
What is a Kenya eTA?
Kenya replaced its previous eVisa system with the Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) — a fully digital pre-departure travel authorisation system operated by the Directorate of Immigration Services, Ministry of Interior and National Administration, Government of the Republic of Kenya. It is applied for entirely online through the official portal — evisa.go.ke — before travel. The eTA is a semi-automated system that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to Kenya.
It is important to note that the possession of an approved eTA is not the final authority to enter Kenya — admissibility is determined at the port of entry by Kenyan immigration officials.
Do You Need a Kenya eTA? — UAE, India & KSA
UAE Nationals: UAE nationals are not on Kenya's visa-exempt list and are required to obtain an eTA before travelling to Kenya. UAE nationals must apply online through the official portal — evisa.go.ke — before departure.
UAE Residents of Other Nationalities: The eTA requirement is determined by the passport held. Residents of the UAE holding Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, or other nationalities that are not on Kenya's exempt list must apply for the eTA before travel.
KSA Nationals: Saudi Arabian nationals are not on Kenya's visa-exempt list and are required to obtain an eTA before travelling to Kenya.
KSA Residents of Other Nationalities: The eTA requirement is determined by the passport held — not by KSA residency status.
Indian Nationals: India is not on Kenya's visa-exempt list — Indian nationals must apply for the eTA through the official portal before travel. However holders of Diplomatic, Official, or Service Passports from India are exempt for stays not exceeding 90 days.

General Disclaimer
All eTA decisions — including approval, refusal, and permitted stay — rest solely with the Directorate of Immigration Services, Ministry of Interior and National Administration, Government of the Republic of Kenya. Terms & Conditions — Kenya eTA Assistance
Rayna Tours provides professional assistance with the Kenya Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) application process across UAE, India, and KSA markets. Rayna Tours has no affiliation with the Directorate of Immigration Services, Ministry of Interior and National Administration, Government of the Republic of Kenya, or any Kenyan government authority.
All Kenya eTA decisions — including approval, refusal, validity, and permitted stay — are made solely at the discretion of the Directorate of Immigration Services, Government of the Republic of Kenya. Rayna Tours does not guarantee eTA approval under any circumstances.
All eTA application fees and Rayna Tours service fees are strictly non-refundable once the application has been submitted — regardless of whether the outcome is approval, refusal, or delay.
Applicants must submit complete, accurate, and genuine information and documents. Any errors, incomplete details, or misleading information may result in rejection or cancellation of the eTA.
The Kenya eTA processing time of approximately 3 working days is an estimate only and may vary due to public holidays, application volume, additional verification requirements, or the sole discretion of Kenyan immigration authorities. Rayna Tours bears no responsibility for any processing delays. Applicants are strongly advised to apply at least 2 weeks before the intended travel date.
Kenyan immigration authorities reserve the right to request additional documents or information at any stage of the eTA application process. Rayna Tours will communicate any such requests promptly.
Rayna Tours bears no responsibility for eTA refusals or delays arising from the applicant's previous immigration records, travel history, overstays, immigration violations, or individual profile.
Possession of an approved Kenya eTA does not guarantee entry into Kenya. The eTA offers permission to travel and is authorised by the Government of the Republic of Kenya — however admissibility is determined solely by Kenyan immigration officials at the port of entry.
Approved eTAs must be used strictly within the stated validity period and as per the permitted stay duration and eTA category. Overstaying in Kenya is a serious immigration offence — all fines, penalties, and legal consequences arising from any overstay or immigration violation are the sole responsibility of the traveller.
All travellers must obtain the eTA before departure — failure to comply may result in being denied boarding or a penalty fee upon arrival in Kenya.
Yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for all travellers arriving from or transiting through countries with risk of yellow fever transmission. Failure to present this certificate upon arrival may result in quarantine or denied entry.
For Indian nationals: Holders of Diplomatic, Official, or Service Passports from India are exempt from the Kenya eTA for stays not exceeding 90 days — as confirmed by the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration (Amendment) Rules, 2025. All other Indian nationals holding ordinary passports are required to obtain the eTA before travel.
Kenya eTA regulations, documentation requirements, processing timelines, exempt nationalities, and applicable fees are subject to change at any time without prior notice at the discretion of the Kenyan government. Applicants are advised to confirm the latest requirements before initiating any application.
Rayna Tours bears no responsibility for eTA refusals, processing delays, or decisions made by Kenyan immigration authorities at any stage of the process.
