The Intramuros Bambike Tour is one of the best and most relaxed ways to experience Manila’s colonial history and best sites. It involves riding a bamboo bicycle, which is completely eco-friendly. The tour will take you to all the key sites in Old Manila and Intramuros, with a guide narrating the history of each site. There are three tours to choose from: the Express Tour, the Sunset Tour, and the Intramuros Experience.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A Historical Tour

Though the Bambike is a fun feature of the tour, it is still a historical tour that will illuminate you on the colonial past and the role Manila played throughout the years. Visit Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral, Plaza Roma, San Agustin Church, and the Old City Walls. You will see most places from the outside, and your guide will provide good information on each. You will gain a new perspective on Manila after this tour.

Multiple Bambike Tours

There are three different tours to choose from. The Express Tour is the quickest, offering a view of see 6 to 8 key sites in 1.5 to 2 hours. The Sunset Tour happens during the golden hour, making it the perfect time to enjoy the sunset and atmospheric beauty. This tour will take 2 to 3 hours to complete. The final choice is the Intramuros Experience. The best of the lot, this tour takes 2.5 to 3 hours to complete and includes over eight sites, including the Aduana ruins.

The Bambike

These lightweight yet sturdy bikes are made sustainably by a local artisan. They look unique and beautiful and can gracefully handle the cobblestone streets. The seats are wide, the tires are thick, and the positioning is upright. All these ensure that you can sit comfortably for over two hours on a ride. Don’t be surprised if by the end of the tour, you will want to take this bike home.
