Pattaya City Tour

This half-day guided city tour begins with hotel pickup in Pattaya at around 10 am and moves beyond the city's beaches and nightlife, visiting four of its most scenic and spiritually significant sites before ending at a gems museum.

A sacred start at Wat Phra Yai (from 10 am)

Your guide and driver collect you from your Pattaya hotel to begin the day at Wat Phra Yai, known as the Temple of the Big Buddha. A series of long but easy steps, flanked by guardrails carved with seven-hooded golden snakes emerging from dragon mouths, leads up to the 18-metre-high golden Buddha image seated atop Pratamnak Hill. The climb opens onto views over the surrounding area as you reach the hilltop sanctuary.

Temple grounds and Wang Sam Sien

Beyond the main golden Buddha, the temple complex holds seven further images depicting stages of the Buddha's enlightenment, set among landscaped grounds and traditional offerings that add to the site's atmosphere. From there, the tour continues to Wang Sam Sien, a cultural site displaying Chinese art, architecture and folklore, centred on a Guanyin (Goddess of Mercy) statue and 24 paintings depicting classic Chinese stories from history.

Viewpoint, shrine and gems museum

At Khao Pattaya Viewpoint, the tour climbs to a hilltop for views across Pattaya's crescent-shaped bay and the coastline beyond. Nearby, Wat Khao Phra holds a shrine said to house a footprint of the Buddha dating back more than 200 years, regarded as one of the area's more revered shrines. Before the tour ends, a stop at the Gems Factory and Museum lets you browse its displays of precious stones, after which your guide and driver take you back to your Pattaya hotel.
