This four-in-one day tour combines Kuala Lumpur's city landmarks, Batu Caves, Putrajaya and a fireflies night cruise into a single 12-hour outing, moving from the capital's colonial core to a limestone cave temple, a rose-granite mosque and a mangrove river cruise after dark.
An English-speaking driver-guide collects you from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle for the day-long circuit. The morning begins with the Kuala Lumpur city tour, taking in the King's Palace, the National Mosque and the KL Railway Station, all viewed from outside for their architecture and history.
From the city, the tour continues to Batu Caves, where a towering golden statue of Lord Muruga stands guard at the base of 272 colorful steps leading up to the limestone cave temples, set among dramatic rock formations that are around 400 million years old. The tour then heads to Putrajaya, Malaysia's planned administrative capital, to see the Putra Mosque, known as the Pink Mosque for its rose-tinted granite exterior, and the wide boulevards and government buildings that define the city's modern layout. A short boat ride on Putrajaya's lake is included as part of the visit.
As evening falls, the tour moves to Kuala Selangor for a seafood dinner at a local restaurant before the day's final stop: a fireflies night cruise aboard a wooden boat. Thousands of fireflies flicker among the mangrove trees lining the river, creating a quiet, glowing spectacle that closes out the day away from the city lights.
Rayna Tours' own driver-guides run the tour from the morning pickup to the evening drop-off, so you have a direct point of contact throughout this long day of sightseeing across four very different stops.
