Evening Desert Safari

Evening Desert Safari is a half-day trip into the desert outside Dubai, running from around 3:30 pm to 8 pm. It combines an adrenaline 4x4 dune bash, Bedouin-style camp activities, and a BBQ dinner with live folk entertainment under the stars.

You are picked up from your hotel in the afternoon and driven out to the desert, with timing built around catching the dune bash and camp activities as the sun goes down over the dunes.

Dune bash and sunset (from 3:30 pm)

The drive begins with an adrenaline 4x4 dune bash across the desert's dunes, dropping low into ditches and climbing high ridges of sand as the driver reads the terrain. The route includes stops along the way to take in the desert sunset, timed as one of the more photogenic parts of the drive, with soft light over the dunes.

Bedouin camp

At the camp, you can try traditional Arabic coffee, relax inside tents decorated in the regional style, and smoke shisha in a lounge area. Camel rides, Arabian henna designs, and traditional Emirati dress for souvenir photos are also part of the stop, along with the option to have a falcon perched on your shoulder for pictures before the evening's shows begin.

BBQ dinner and shows

Dinner is a buffet with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, served as the camp's evening entertainment gets underway around the dining area. The lineup includes a belly dance performance and a Tanura show, the spinning folk dance rooted in Sufi tradition, both performed under the open desert sky.

• Carry a valid ID or passport with you during the safari.
• This tour is not recommended for pregnant women or guests with back problems.
• There is no refund for partly used services.
• Heavy luggage cannot be carried during the activity.
• Children under 16 can join the desert safari itself but are not permitted to try shisha or the dune buggy add-on, and are charged according to the applicable child rate.
• Infants are not permitted to take part in the dune bashing and must be accompanied by a guardian at all times at the camp.
• If your hotel is far from the standard pickup points, the operations team will coordinate a nearby meeting point with you.
• Eating, drinking, and smoking are not allowed inside the vehicle during transfers.
