This ticket covers the ferry crossing between Koh Samui and the mainland at Surat Thani, one of the most-used routes for onward travel to Bangkok, southern Thailand, and the Surat Thani train and bus links. Sailings run hourly, so you are not tied to a single departure time.

Board at Nathon Pier on the Koh Samui side or Donsak Pier on the Surat Thani side, depending on your direction of travel, and check in a little early so staff can verify your ticket. Onboard, the cabin is air conditioned with cushioned seating, and some sailings carry light refreshments, with several restrooms available for the crossing. Departures run from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, giving you a wide window to line up flights, trains or buses on the mainland.

  1. Check in at the pier

    Board at Nathon Pier on the Koh Samui side or Donsak Pier on the Surat Thani side, depending on your direction of travel. Sailings run hourly from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm, and your selected slot is the reporting time at the pier, so allow about an hour between arriving and that slot. Carry a valid ID or passport.

  2. The crossing

    The ferry-only ticket is booked as a crossing of about two hours across the Gulf of Thailand. Onboard you have an air-conditioned cabin with cushioned seating, access to open-air decks, restrooms and a standard luggage allowance. Pets are not carried, and pregnant passengers are not permitted to travel on safety grounds.

  3. Arrival and onward travel

    You disembark at the pier at the far end for your onward connection. Departure times can move with the weather, so leave room in any onward flight, train or bus plan you have booked from the mainland.
