Jungle Safari Tour

The Jungle Safari Tour takes you through Koh Samui's hilly, forested interior in a 4x4 jeep, reaching jungle trails, waterfalls and viewpoints that standard vehicles cannot access. Depending on the option booked, the safari runs 4 to 8 hours and combines adventure driving with cultural stops and a Thai lunch.

On transfer-inclusive options, the jeep collects you from your hotel and heads toward the island's interior, with a guide riding along to point out the terrain and set the pace for the rougher stretches of trail. The drive passes coconut plantations and rubber tapping farms before reaching the first jungle trail of the day.

The safari continues to Big Buddha Viewpoint and on to Hin Ta and Hin Yai, the Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks, naturally formed shapes on the shoreline. From these stops you can see hillsides, forest and coastline that most standard sightseeing routes do not reach, a different side of Koh Samui than its beach resorts.

A culture stop follows at Secret Buddha Garden, Plai Laem Temple and Wat Khunaram, the temple known as the resting place of the mummified monk Luang Pho Daeng. These sites round out the day with a look at Koh Samui's spiritual side alongside its natural scenery, and the guide shares background on each site as you go.

Midway through the safari, the jeep stops at a mountain base camp for a Thai lunch, eaten with views over the surrounding hills. From there, the route heads to Namuang Waterfall, where you can swim in the pools below; pack swimwear, a towel and a change of clothes for this stop, since the pools can be muddy after rain.
