The Desert Buggy Driving Experience puts you behind the wheel of a dune buggy for a 60-minute self-driven ride across Dubai's desert dunes. Buggies are available in two- to six-seater configurations, so the format suits solo drivers, friends and small groups alike, from first-timers to confident drivers.

A hotel transfer collects you from your location at a time slot you choose at booking, with pickup usually 60 to 90 minutes ahead of that slot. At the desert site, a guide briefs you on the controls and safety rules, hands out a helmet and goggles, and has you sign an indemnity form before you set off.

On the dunes

Once briefed, you take the wheel of your chosen buggy, from the Polaris RZR 1000cc and Can-am Maverick Turbo to the Polaris Ranger and Yamaha Grizzly 350cc, and drive across the desert terrain with your guide keeping the group together. The buggies are built to be easy to handle even if you have not driven off-road before, while still giving confident drivers enough speed and grip to enjoy the dunes at pace. Helmets and goggles stay on throughout, and the guide's instructions on pace and route keep the drive within safe limits. Refreshments, including water and soft drinks, are on hand to cool off between runs.

Add-on sandboarding

After the drive, you can add a sandboarding session, sliding down the dunes on foot for a change of pace before you head back. It is a simple way to stay out on the sand a little longer without needing any equipment of your own.
