The Ancient City (Muang Boran) is one of the world's largest open-air museums, located in Samut Prakan just outside Bangkok. Laid out in the shape of Thailand, the grounds bring together replica and original historical structures, including castles, palaces, temples and sculptures from every region of the country.

Founded by Lek Viriyaphant and constructed from 1963, the park opened to the public in 1972, arranging its structures geographically to match their real locations across Thailand. Walking or riding through the grounds, you move between original buildings relocated from their original sites and carefully rebuilt replicas of well-known castles, palaces and temples. One stop along the way is Talad Bok, a recreated floating market lined with traditional Thai houses and local food stalls. Bicycles, golf carts and a tram tour are available on-site to help you cover the grounds without spending the whole day on foot.
