The Erawan Museum in Samut Prakan, just outside Bangkok, is built inside a three-headed elephant structure that stands around 43 meters tall. Each head represents one of three worlds, heaven, earth and the underworld, and the museum inside holds a private collection of Asian and Thai artifacts.
The grounds outside are landscaped with gardens, greenery and tranquil pools, which you can view from the museum's upper levels as well as at ground level. Inside, the collection assembled by Lek Viriyaphant spans ancient artifacts, Buddha statues, jade stones, and rare Chinese Ming and Qing dynasty vases, arranged across the structure's three levels. The interiors themselves are part of the experience, with murals, stained glass and richly colored, textured stucco covering the walls, an effect many visitors describe as psychedelic.
Rayna Tours' local team handles your Erawan Museum booking and voucher, so adding this stop to a day trip around Samut Prakan and greater Bangkok is simple to arrange well before you travel.
