River Ayung Rafting and ATV is a full-day adventure package on Bali's Ayung River near Ubud, combining white-water rafting through Class II and III rapids with an ATV ride and lunch, run door to door between around 9 am and 5 pm.
Your day starts with a roundtrip hotel transfer to the rafting base in Bongkasa Pertiwi, Abiansemal, on the Ayung River. On arrival, guides run through paddle technique and safety before fitting you with a helmet and life jacket for the water. No previous rafting experience is needed for this stretch of the river, though everyone in the group is expected to follow the guide's instructions once you are on the water.
Once you set off, the river alternates between calm stretches and short bursts of Class II and III rapids, enough to keep the ride exciting without overwhelming first-timers. The route runs through dense forest and past steep rock walls, with waterfalls dropping straight into the river along the way. Carvings on some of the rock faces along the banks depict traditional Balinese stories, visible as you paddle past. Guides stay close by throughout to help with paddling and to manage the rapids safely.
The rapids on this stretch of the Ayung are graded manageable enough for first-time rafters, while still giving experienced paddlers a proper workout, which is why the trip works well for families and mixed-ability groups rafting together. It is also a quieter alternative to Bali's busier beach areas, with the forest closing in on both banks for most of the route.
After rafting, you move on to the ATV ride included in your package, followed by an Indonesian lunch to refuel before the drive back to your hotel. Exact ATV routes and lunch menus vary by the package you book, so check the option details at checkout.
Rayna's own team in Bali handles the pickup, the safety briefing, and the drop-off, so you have one point of contact for the whole day if anything comes up.
