Museum Puri Lukisan is one of the oldest art museums in Bali, set in the middle of Ubud. Founded in 1956, it was established to preserve traditional and early modern Balinese painting, sculpture, and wood carving. A visit generally takes around one to two hours.

Inside, several gallery buildings hold collections that trace Balinese art from classical temple painting through to modern work, with pieces spanning wood carvings, sculpture, and paintings from generations of local artists. Exhibits are arranged so you can move through at your own pace, reading the information panels as you go, without needing to join a fixed group tour.
