Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park sits on a limestone plateau in South Bali and centres on its namesake statue, a nearly 400-foot depiction of Vishnu riding the mythical bird Garuda, among the tallest statues in the world. The park stays open from morning into the evening, and most visitors spend two to three hours moving through it.
Inside the park, walking trails lead past the statue itself, plus separate large statues of Vishnu and of Garuda, each with its own viewing points, photo spots, and information panels on Balinese mythology and history. The Street Theatre hosts live shows through the day, Parahyangan Somaka Giri is used for ceremonial and religious events, and the Amphitheatre stages performances most evenings. Between these areas, walking trails wind through limestone cliffs and gardens that double as cultural display spaces, so the scenery changes as you move from one section of the park to the next.
Hotel pickup and drop-off can be added at booking if you prefer not to arrange your own transport to the park. Rayna's local team in Bali handles your ticket and transfer booking and can help with any questions before your visit.
