This full-day tour combines a visit to Tirta Empul, one of Bali's best known Hindu water temples, with time in Ubud. An English-speaking driver and guide travel with you throughout, in an air-conditioned car, for a day centred on temple, rice terraces, and craft villages.

The day begins with pickup from your hotel in an air-conditioned car, with your driver and guide managing the route and stops so you do not need to arrange your own transport between sites or worry about directions.

At Tirta Empul, a temple built around a sacred spring believed to date back to the 10th century, you can take part in the melukat purification ritual in the temple's bathing pools. Balinese Hindus still use these same pools today for spiritual cleansing, moving between the spouts in a set order, and the temple's carved stone gateways and courtyards set the scene for the ritual. The atmosphere inside the grounds stays calm despite the steady flow of visitors, and the spring itself runs continuously into the pools rather than being pumped in.

From the temple, the tour continues into Ubud, a town known for its art markets, rice terraces, and traditional Balinese architecture. You can walk through gallery streets lined with paintings and wood carvings, take in the green terraced fields on the town's edges, and stop at viewpoints along the way, with your guide pointing out details of Balinese culture, craft, and daily life as you go.

Fuel, tolls, parking, and tax are all covered as part of the tour, so the only things to plan for are meals and any personal spending along the way.
