Lombok Gili Trawangan and Malimbu Hill Private Day Tour

This day tour explores northwest Lombok, taking in the coastal viewpoint at Malimbu Hill and a boat trip across to Gili Trawangan. An English-speaking driver and guide travel with you in an air-conditioned car for the full day, from around 9 am to 6 pm.

Pickup and drop-off for this tour are available in the Senggigi and Mataram area. From there, your driver takes you along Lombok's coastal road, with the drive itself forming part of the sightseeing as the route passes small villages and stretches of coastline.

The first stop is Malimbu Hill, a viewpoint above the coast with views over the sea toward the Gili Islands and, depending on timing, the sunset. It is one of the more photographed spots along this stretch of coast, and the tour builds in time to pause here before continuing to the harbour.

From the coast, a boat transfer takes you across to Gili Trawangan, an island with no cars or motorbikes. The only transport there is on foot, by bicycle, or by horse-drawn cidomo cart, and the lack of traffic noise gives the island a slower pace than the Lombok mainland. Sandy beaches and beachfront cafes line the shore, making it an easy place to walk around between activities.

Once on the water, a sightseeing boat charter takes you around the island before you get into the water. Snorkelling gear and life jackets are provided, so you can spend time over the coral reefs looking for tropical fish without needing your own equipment. The water around Gili Trawangan is generally calm and clear, which is part of why the island draws so many snorkellers and divers.
