The Ubud Palace and Tirta Empul Full-Day Tour is a full-day sightseeing trip to two of central Bali's most visited sites, run with your own air-conditioned vehicle and an English-speaking driver-guide for the day.

The day begins with a hotel pickup, and hotel transfer, parking fees, tax and entry tickets are all included, so there is little to arrange once you are on board.

Ubud Palace and Bali's royal history

The first stop is Ubud Palace, known locally as Puri Saren Agung, once the residence of Ubud's royal family and still their descendants' home today. Carved stone gates, ornate courtyards and traditional Balinese architecture reflect the island's royal past, and it remains one of the most photographed sites in Ubud. In the evenings, separate from this tour, the palace also stages Balinese dance performances such as Legong or Barong, accompanied by a gamelan orchestra, and your guide can tell you more about the tradition while you are there.

Water purification at Tirta Empul

The tour continues to Tirta Empul, one of Bali's most sacred Hindu water temples. According to local legend, its holy spring was created by the god Indra, who struck the earth with his staff to release the water of life and revive his troops after they were poisoned by a rival king. You can observe the purification ritual at the bathing pools or take part yourself, and your guide shares the temple's history and spiritual traditions as you go.

Between the two stops, the drive itself takes in Balinese villages, rice fields and tropical scenery, making the journey between the palace and the temple as much a part of the day as the two stops themselves.
