Phuket City Tour

This half day city tour covers Phuket's cultural core, operating from around 9 am to 1 pm with hotel pickup and drop off included. The route takes in Phuket Old Town, Wat Chalong and a hilltop viewpoint over the coast, with an English speaking guide on hand throughout the day.

The day begins with a pickup from your Phuket hotel in an air conditioned vehicle. From there, the guide leads a run through the city's older districts and out to the temple and viewpoint stops that make up the rest of the itinerary.

In Phuket Old Town, the guide points out Sino-Portuguese shophouses painted in shades of pink, blue and yellow, along with the small cafes and shops that now occupy the old trading streets. You will hear about the district's Chinese trading history, the Portuguese architectural influence, and how this part of Phuket has kept its original character while the rest of the island grew around it.

From there, the tour continues to Wat Chalong, one of Phuket's most visited temples, along with other temple stops on the route. Entrance fees are included, so you can spend the time taking in the architecture and the everyday rituals of Thai Buddhism without extra cost at the gate.

The itinerary also includes a stop at a hilltop viewpoint, with views over Phuket town, the Andaman Sea and the islands offshore, a good spot for photos before the group heads back. The stops are spaced so there is time to look around at each one, rather than a quick walk past each site.
