Hotel pickup (around 6:00 am)

A roundtrip hotel transfer collects you from your hotel in the early hours of the morning, ahead of the 6:00 am start, and drives you out to the Al Khatim desert as the sky begins to lighten. Pickup covers standard Abu Dhabi addresses; if you are staying further out, our team will confirm a suitable meeting point and let you know if an additional transfer charge applies. Sunrise dune bash

As you reach the desert, the pre-dawn landscape is calm and quiet, with the stillness broken once the dune bash gets underway. An experienced driver takes the 4x4 across the rolling dunes as the sun comes up, turning the sand orange, yellow and red. There is time to stop for photos as the desert brightens around you, before the drive continues to the campsite, where refreshments are served and you get a taste of traditional Arabian culture and heritage amid the sands.

Optional quad biking

You can upgrade your sunrise safari with a quad bike session set against the changing colors of the desert sands, choosing a 30-minute or 60-minute slot. No prior experience is needed, so the ride suits first-time riders as well as anyone who has ridden before, and it can be added on for an additional charge.

• Infants are not permitted to take part in dune bashing and must be accompanied by a guardian throughout the safari.
• For pickups from distant locations, our team will arrange a suitable meeting point, and transfers may carry an additional cost.
• There are no refunds for partly used safari services.
• Heavy luggage cannot be brought on this activity.
• Pickups from locations outside Abu Dhabi may carry a surcharge, so let us know your location in advance.
