Dubai Aquarium and Penguin Encounter

Dubai Aquarium and Penguin Encounter is inside The Dubai Mall in Downtown Dubai, built around a 10-million-litre tank that holds the Guinness World Record for the largest acrylic viewing panel of its kind. The Penguin Cove exhibit, kept at 2 to 4 degrees Celsius, is home to 16 Gentoo penguins in a recreated sub-Antarctic setting.

Inside Penguin Cove, you can watch the penguins' playful behaviour up close and may get the chance to feed them, while a lighting system mimics their natural day and night cycle. From there, the visit continues into the wider aquarium, where more than 150 marine species, including sharks and rays, share the 10-million-litre tank. Walk through the 48-metre glass tunnel for a close view of the animals swimming overhead and around you, then carry on into the adjoining Underwater Zoo for a look at more of the aquarium's marine life.
