It was built on the ground - inside hotel travel desks, working directly with travelers and solving real problems in real time.
What began as a small operation with limited resources grew through persistence, discipline, and a deep commitment to understanding destinations from the inside out. In the early days, structured online booking systems for experiences in the region were limited. Travelers often arrived without advance bookings, and operational coordination required hands-on management.

In the beginning, every booking was handled manually. Emails, calls, and spreadsheets required constant attention.
As volume increased, it became clear that scaling responsibly required systems designed specifically for operational realities.
That realization led to the development of our own technology infrastructure - built around booking control, supplier management, transfers, accounting, and service delivery.
From two people, Rayna has grown into a group of over 1,500 professionals, operating across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe, and India, with more than 100 travel desks in the UAE alone.
Growth was never pursued for visibility. It was pursued for control, consistency, and responsibility.

When I started Rayna, I did not begin with a master plan. I began with responsibility.
I worked directly with travelers, handled their concerns personally, and learned the destination by being present every day. In the early stages, we faced limitations - in resources, systems, and recognition - but we never compromised on standards.
Over time, I came to understand that experience businesses cannot be managed from a distance. They require operational discipline, accountability, and real knowledge of what happens on the ground - not just what appears on a screen.
As the industry evolved and large marketplaces expanded rapidly, I questioned whether technology would replace traditional travel expertise. My conclusion was different. Technology should strengthen operators - not disconnect them from responsibility.
