Hummer Desert Safari Abu Dhabi

The Hummer Desert Safari takes you off Abu Dhabi's paved roads and onto the dunes in a Hummer H2, one of the more capable off-road vehicles on the market. A driver collects you from your Abu Dhabi hotel and heads into terrain that ordinary cars cannot reach, where the desert's flora, fauna and shifting sand formations come into view.

Dune bashing and a sunset stop

Once inside the dunes, the Hummer climbs and drops across the sand while you take in the desert's high ridges and low valleys. The route is timed to reach a scenic point as the sun goes down, giving you a chance to photograph the sunset over the dunes before the group moves on to the desert camp for the evening.

An evening at the desert camp

At the camp, a camel is on hand for photographs and short rides, and henna artists apply traditional designs while you pose for pictures in Arabic dress. A separate shisha tent is set up for guests who want to try it, and a barbecue dinner with vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes follows, alongside unlimited soft drinks, water, tea and coffee. Alcoholic drinks are available in the camp for an additional cost for those who want them, and separate toilet facilities are provided for men and women.

As the evening continues, dancers perform a Tanura show and a belly dance routine to live Arabic music, and guests who want more can add sand boarding or quad biking on request, subject to availability.
