This day trip from Tashkent visits three highland sites in the Tashkent region: Charvak Water Reservoir, the Chimgan Mountains, and Amirsoy resort. Running from about 8 am to 4 pm, it combines a scenic mountain drive with time at Uzbekistan's largest ski resort, giving a change of scenery from the city on a single-day outing.
The day begins with hotel pickup in an air-conditioned vehicle, with an English-speaking guide accompanying you throughout. Depending on the season, the tour follows either a winter or a summer route, visiting the same three stops in a different order.
At Chimgan, you can ride the chair lift, which climbs around 2 km up the mountain to roughly 2,000 meters, weather permitting, for views over the surrounding valleys. Amirsoy is home to the country's largest ski resort, with lunch options and rest facilities on site, and, in season (typically October to April), a range of ski runs for those who want to ski. A cable car at Amirsoy is also available at an extra cost for anyone who wants the mountain views without skiing. Along the way, the drive passes Charvak Water Reservoir, a large reservoir set among the mountains, with stops at scenic viewpoints for photos of the water and surrounding peaks.
A number of optional activities are available at an extra cost on the day, including horseback riding, quad biking, and jet ski or speed boat rides on the reservoir. Card payment is not always accepted at Chimgan or Charvak, so it is worth bringing cash for anything you would like to add.
This is a full day out of Tashkent into the surrounding mountains, combining a scenic drive, a mountain chairlift, and time at a resort with lunch and optional activities. Rayna's local team handles the pickup, guide, and logistics throughout the day.
