This overnight camp takes you into the desert outside Ras Al Khaimah for an evening of Bedouin-style hospitality followed by a night under the stars. If you choose the transfer option, a driver collects you from your hotel in Ras Al Khaimah and drives you out to the camp; if you skip it, you make your own way there for a 5 pm reporting time.
The camp sits well away from the main roads, so the drive in trades traffic for open dunes and a widening view of the sunset. On arrival, you can take a short camel ride across the sand, a traditional way to cross the desert that the Bedouin still call the ship of the desert, before settling into camp for the evening ahead.
At the camp, quad biking and sandboarding are on offer for anyone who wants a more active turn on the dunes. Closer to camp, you can have henna painting done, try shisha, dress in traditional costume for photos, and watch a Tanoura and belly dance performance as the evening's entertainment. These calmer options work well for guests who would rather stay around the camp than head out onto the sand.
Dinner is a barbecue spread served at the camp, with soft drinks included. Afterward, you sleep in a Bedouin-style tent, with separate washroom facilities provided for men and women through the night, giving the camp a settled, family-friendly feel once the entertainment winds down.
The next morning brings desert sunrise views, followed by a traditional breakfast and a cup of coffee before you leave. If you booked the transfer, you're driven back to your Ras Al Khaimah hotel afterward; otherwise, you make your own way back at your own pace.
