Baan Teelanka, the Upside Down House Museum, is a fully furnished three-story house in Phuket built completely upside down, open from about 10 am to 6 pm. It appeals to visitors of most ages, and especially to kids.

You enter through what would normally be the attic and make your way down through each room, where the furniture is fixed to the ceiling above you and the floor plays the part of the ceiling. Every step plays with your sense of balance as you walk through what looks like a normal room turned on its head, and the layout carries you through to the main door and garage, which double as the exit. Photo spots are built into the rooms along the way, so there is a natural pause to take pictures in each one.

Next to the house, a garden maze adds a second activity, with a run of turns and dead ends to work through on foot before you leave. A room escape game is also available on site for those who want an extra challenge.

  • Walk through a fully furnished three-story house built completely upside down.
  • See furniture fixed to the ceiling as you walk through each inverted room.
  • Explore a garden maze next to the house after your visit inside.
  • Try the on-site room escape game for an added challenge after the house tour.
  • A good pick for families, since the concept appeals to all ages, especially kids.
