This full-day tour trades Ho Chi Minh City's streets for the coastal town of Vung Tau, with a guided day out that covers a beach stop, several historic landmarks and a Vietnamese lunch, led throughout by an English-speaking guide.
Pickup takes place in the morning from centrally located hotels in Ho Chi Minh City's District 1, or from a set meeting point for guests staying elsewhere, with the group returning to the city in the early evening after a full day on the coast.
The day begins at Thuy Van Beach, also known as Back Beach, a long stretch of sand running close to 10 kilometres along Vung Tau's coastline. The beach is a good spot to relax, wade into the water or simply enjoy the sea air before the rest of the day's sightseeing.
From the beach, the tour continues to the Jesus Christ Statue, one of the tallest statues of Christ in Asia, where you can climb to a viewing point for views over the town and coastline. Steps inside the statue lead up through the body to openings near the arms, each framing a different view of the bay. The route then takes in the Whale Temple (Thang Tam Temple), a place of worship used by local fishermen, and the White Palace (Bach Dinh), a French colonial mansion set above the sea.
The day finishes at Cape Nghinh Phong, a viewpoint set among cliffs and hills with open views across the ocean, before the drive back to Ho Chi Minh City. A Vietnamese lunch is included partway through the day, and hotel pickup and drop-off is arranged for centrally located hotels in District 1.
Rayna's local team manages the booking and pickup logistics, so support is available if anything about the day's plan needs to change.
