Mekong - Cai Be Tan Phong Island Sharing Tour

This full-day tour heads into the Mekong Delta's Cai Be and Tien Giang area, a region of orchards, rivers and villages south of Ho Chi Minh City. The day combines a boat cruise, a cycling stretch and visits to local workshops, with an English-speaking guide throughout.

Pickup is arranged from centrally located hotels in Ho Chi Minh City's District 1 in the early morning, with an alternative meeting point in the same area for guests staying elsewhere, and a return to the city in the late afternoon or early evening.

Tien River cruise and villages

The day begins with a boat cruise along the Tien River, past the orchards that make the Mekong Delta one of Vietnam's main fruit-growing regions. The route passes through villages where you can see traditional homes and get a sense of daily life along the river before the group moves on to the workshop stops.

Workshops and local culture

Family-run workshops along the way produce coconut candy and crispy rice popcorn using methods passed down through generations, and you can watch the process before sampling fresh tropical fruit. Live music often accompanies this stop, drawing on southern Vietnamese folk traditions recognized by UNESCO as part of the country's intangible cultural heritage.

Cycling and the Ba Kiet Ancient House

A short cycling stretch takes you along village paths lined with fruit orchards and gardens, followed by a visit to the Ba Kiet Ancient House, a preserved example of traditional Vietnamese architecture. The house's timber frame and carved details reflect the style of wealthy Mekong Delta families from more than a century ago. Lunch is served in a local garden setting, and the day closes with a sampan ride through the delta's coconut-lined canals before the drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
