This half-day city tour gives visitors two ways to see Ho Chi Minh City, with a morning option built around the city's historical landmarks and an afternoon option centred on Chinatown and the Saigon River, so you can pick whichever fits your schedule and interests.
Hotel pickup in central Ho Chi Minh City is arranged for either option, so you do not need to make your own way across the city beforehand.
The morning tour visits Independence Palace, also called Reunification Palace, built in 1966 and known as the site where a tank crashed through the gates on the day Saigon fell in 1975. You then see the exteriors of the Notre Dame Cathedral, built by French colonists in the 1880s, and the Central Post Office, a late nineteenth century building with an ornate interior, before visiting the War Remnants Museum, one of the most visited museums in Vietnam, which sets out exhibits on Vietnam's wartime history through military vehicles, photographs and wartime artefacts.
The afternoon tour heads into Cho Lon, a district first settled by Chinese immigrants generations ago and now one of Vietnam's largest Chinatowns, where local markets and narrow streets reflect that heritage. You visit Thien Hau Pagoda, one of the city's oldest Chinese temples, known for its detailed carvings and the large spiral incense coils that hang from its ceiling, before boarding the Saigon Waterbus for a ride past Landmark 81, the Bitexco Financial Tower and Vinhomes Central Park.
Rayna's local team manages your booking and voucher for either half-day option, so you have a Ho Chi Minh City point of contact throughout, whichever route you choose.
