Ho Chi Minh Full day Sharing Tour

Independence Palace and colonial landmarks

You begin at Independence Palace, also known as Reunification Palace, built in 1966 and known as the site where a tank crashed through the gates on the day Saigon fell in 1975. From there you see the exteriors of Notre Dame Cathedral, built by French colonists in the 1880s using materials imported from France, and the Central Post Office, a late nineteenth century building known for its ornate interior and an antique map of Saigon on display inside.

War Remnants Museum and Cho Lon

The War Remnants Museum, established in 1975, sets out exhibits on the Indochina wars and their impact on the country, and remains one of the most visited museums in Vietnam. After lunch, the tour continues into Cho Lon, a district first settled by Chinese immigrants generations ago and now one of Vietnam's largest Chinatowns, ending at Thien Hau Pagoda, a temple dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea and known for the large spiral incense coils that hang from its ceiling.

Saigon Waterbus cruise

To close the day, you board the Saigon Waterbus for a ride past Landmark 81, the Bitexco Financial Tower, a 68-storey building with a lotus-bud shaped design, Vinhomes Central Park and the District 2 waterfront. The route covers several kilometres of the river, a relaxed way to end a day spent mostly on foot and by road.
