Getting to the dhow

A hotel pickup is arranged from centrally located hotels in Dubai, with a separate pickup point for guests staying near the Sharjah Sahara Centre. Guests board the dhow at Dubai Marina ahead of the 6:30 pm departure, with boarding open from 6 pm, giving enough time to settle in before the fast is broken.

Breaking the fast on board

The fast is broken the traditional way with dates and fresh fruit, followed by a buffet-style Iftar spread that includes refreshing drinks, crunchy starters, fresh salads, warm assorted breads, a range of Asian and Arabic main courses, and desserts. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are served, so the buffet suits mixed groups without anyone needing a separate menu.

From the open upper deck or the air-conditioned lower deck, guests can take in Dubai Marina's skyline, with sightlines toward the Burj Al Arab and Atlantis, The Palm, along with the yachts and towers lining the waterway.
