Rayna Tours runs a dedicated Iftar cruise on Dubai Creek during Ramadan, sailing through the heart of Old Dubai as guests break their fast together aboard a refurbished wooden dhow. The cruise itself lasts about an hour and follows the creek's older, quieter stretch rather than the marina's modern skyline.

Getting to the dhow

A hotel pickup is arranged from centrally located hotels in Dubai, with a separate pickup point for guests staying near the Sharjah Sahara Centre. Boarding takes place at Dubai Creek ahead of the 6:30 pm departure, with boarding open from 6 pm, giving enough time to settle in before the fast is broken.

Breaking the fast on board

The fast is broken the traditional way with dates and fresh fruit, followed by a generous buffet-style Iftar spread that blends Asian and Emirati flavours. Expect crisp starters, grilled specialities, main dishes such as Arabic Kabsa, and a selection of desserts, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options served, so mixed groups are covered from one buffet line.

Views along the creek

The dhow sails through Old Dubai, passing traditional souks, older quarters and heritage buildings alongside more modern structures that line the creek banks. Guests can dine from the partly open upper deck or the fully air-conditioned lower deck, whichever suits the evening. A dedicated space for Salah is set up on board for guests who wish to pray during the cruise, so there is no need to step away from the group to find somewhere quiet.

The cruise operates on Fridays and Saturdays during Ramadan and suits families, colleagues and larger groups wanting to share Iftar in a traditional setting.
