The afternoon starts with pickup from your Da Nang hotel and a drive to Bay Mau Coconut Forest. Here you board a traditional bamboo basket boat for a ride through the coconut waterways, guided by a local rower who also puts on a boat-spinning display. Along the way your guide explains how the local fishing community has worked this coastline for generations, and there is time to join in a few traditional Vietnamese games with the group before moving on.

Hoi An Ancient City at dusk

From the coconut forest, the tour continues to Hoi An Ancient City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved trading-port architecture. You walk past the Japanese Covered Bridge, old merchant houses and local markets as your guide points out the stories behind this former trading port. There is time to browse craft shops along the way and take in the quiet riverside views as the streets fill with evening visitors. Since the tour runs into the evening, you also get to see the town's colorful lanterns lit up along the lanes as dusk settles in.

The day wraps up with dinner at a local restaurant before the drive back to Da Nang, giving you time to unwind after a day that moves from quiet waterways to a lantern-lit old town.
