Cham Island Day Tour

This full-day tour runs from around 7:30 am to 3:30 pm and takes you by speedboat to the Cham Islands, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve made up of eight islands off the coast of Hoi An in central Vietnam, with hotel pickup and drop-off and a guide included.

A hotel pickup collects you in the morning for the drive to the pier, where you board a speedboat for the crossing to the islands, returning the same way at the end of the day.

Exploring the biosphere reserve

Once on the islands, you explore the Cham Island Biosphere Reserve, protected by UNESCO for its coral reefs, sea grass meadows, tropical forest, sandy beaches and fishing communities spread across the archipelago's eight islands. The tour visits the 18th-century Hai Tang Pagoda, dedicated to Buddha, and the Ong Temple, dedicated to the whale deity long honored by local fishing communities, along with the ancient Cham Well and the Bai Lang Fishing Village, where residents still follow a traditional fishing way of life. The ancient Cham Well is one of several relics left behind by the Cham people who once inhabited these islands.

Snorkeling in the reef

The tour includes a snorkeling session of up to an hour in the waters around the islands, home to reef fish such as clownfish, parrotfish, damselfish, angelfish and wrasses, along with squid, cuttlefish and both hawksbill and green turtles. Lunch at a beachside restaurant follows, giving you time to dry off and relax before the speedboat ride back to the mainland in the early afternoon.
