Chiang Rai City Tour

The Chiang Rai City Tour is a day tour covering four of the region's best-known sights: the White Temple, the Blue Temple, the Black House Museum, and a Long Neck village. The tour starts at 10 am and includes a roundtrip hotel transfer and an English-speaking guide for the full day.

Pickup is arranged from your hotel, and you travel in an air-conditioned vehicle for the full day, with your guide introducing the itinerary and providing background on Thai culture along the way.

The tour begins at Wat Rong Khun, known as the White Temple, a contemporary Buddhist temple built almost entirely in white with inlaid mirrored glass, one of the most photographed sites in Thailand. Nearby is Wat Rong Suea Ten, the Blue Temple, built in deep blue and gold tones with a large white Buddha statue at its center, a newer addition to Chiang Rai's temple circuit. The next stop is the Black House Museum, or Baan Dam, a collection of around 40 dark-toned buildings designed by the Thai artist Thawan Duchanee, displaying animal bones, horns, skins, and other objects across landscaped grounds and wooden halls, a deliberate contrast to the white and blue temples that come before it.

The final stop is a Long Neck village, home to Kayan Lahwi people originally from Myanmar's Kayah State, known for the brass coils some women wear to elongate the neck over time. You can walk through the village, observe daily life and traditional weaving demonstrations, and buy handmade items such as scarves and jewelry directly from residents, supporting the local community.
