Culture and Attractions of Bangkok

Bangkok’s main cultural attractions are its many temples or Wats as they’re called in Thailand. Some of the most beautiful Wats in Bangkok are Wat Arun or Temple of Dawn, and Wat Pra keaw. The Grand Palace is the most breathtaking attraction in all of Bangkok with golden arc
hes and colorful spires. Wat Pra Kaew is famous for the beautiful Phra Kaew Morakot (the Emerald Buddha).
Wat Arun stands on the riverside, its towering spires reflecting the rays of the sun in the morning. Wat Arun is the most recognized landmark in Southeast Asia. When you’re in Bangkok, don’t miss the Floating Market Damnoen Saduak, which is the pioneer of all floating markets. Dozens of wooden row boats, canoes, rafts and houseboats will float gently on the river, selling fresh flowers, vegetables and fruits. Food and hot tea are also cooked and served on the boats. Chinatown is another cultural attraction that you shouldn’t miss. It is colorful, exotic and packed with stalls that sell gold, Chinese silk, herbs and tea.

If you’re looking at nightlife, then head out to Khao San Road where east meets west. Here you’ll find sleek clubs, converted VW cocktail bars, eclectic market stalls and more. Everywhere you turn you’ll be offered some service or the other. Sex tourism is very popular in Bangkok, and Khao San Road is the perfect place to head to for some fun.
