This amazing tour offers you an extraordinary high-flying experience across one of South Africa’s most stunning and untouched landscapes. So join us to head out into Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve - located along the mesmerizing Elgin Valley, and experience the eco-adventure of a lifetime with an advanced and safe ziplining system. It whizzes you through the breathtaking mountainous beauty that envelops this UNESCO World Heritage Site whose captivating ecosystem was once completely unapproachable.
As you reach the base camp upon a 60 to 70-minute drive from Cape Town, you’ll be given a brief yet clear instruction on safety measures. Get outfitted with helmets and harnesses and then hop on to a powerful 4X4 vehicle for a 30-minute ride which leads you to the actual spot. When you make to the first of 13 platforms, your guide with excellent knowledge of the region’s astonishing ecology and geology will ensure that you’re securely fastened to the zip cable. Fascinatingly, each platform is built into the mountain folds or steep rock formations over Riviersonderend Gorge.
The heart-racing Cape Canopy experience comprises 11 stainless steel ziplines, with the longest of them extending for over 320 meters. Once the adventure begins, you’ll soar over the Western Cape’s best-kept secrets at a vertigo-inducing altitude, gliding over lush fynbos-blanketed mountainscapes and past the gorgeous lush valleys and pristine rivers as well as natural pools. Feel the refreshing mountain breeze and have the best of mid-air company as the local eagles flap your overhead. Most of all, enjoy an exhilarating walk through a lofty suspension bridge that is erected high above a waterfall.
The activity ends with a brisk one-kilometer hike to the vehicle which transfers you back to the base camp on request. Before your return journey, you can replenish your energy levels with a scrumptious complimentary lunch.
