The brand-new, work-in-progress,
Jeddah Tower is all set to take over the title of the world’s tallest building,
beating the current tallest structure, Burj Khalifa, by more than 172 meters. As
Saudi Arabia will now have its own version of iconic skyscraper that overall
enhances the region’s appeal and layout, the outsized structure will also hold
the title of the first ever building to reach a height of one-kilometer or more.
The building is
developed by Al-Waleed bin Talal who belongs to the Saudi royal family and one
of the world’s richest men. And the main architect behind this marvel is Adrian
Smith who has also designed some of the world’s architectural masterpieces such
as Burj Khalifa, Pearl River Tower etc. Once it’s completed, it will tower over
the upcoming Jeddah Economic City, a massive commercial / residential project. With
its distinctly elegant Arabian design, the sleek structure keeps up the
aerodynamic features thus ensuring its superb functionality.
The glass-steel
structure contains a total of 252 floors, of which 167 are habitable. There are
elegant dining venues, shops, office spaces, and super luxurious accommodation including
Four Seasons Hotel. As it’s more than a commercial center, you’ll get to see
here the world’s highest observatory deck on its 157th level at a
height of over 660 meters. A stunning circular platform which protrudes outdoors
adds to its exquisiteness. Moreover, you can enjoy the most panoramic views over
the city along with Red Sea, thanks to its uber-cool, shaded patios which grace
its three sides.
As we look forward to its
early 2020 opening, this compelling structure is all on its way to become an Arabian
landmark of the most astounding experiences and attractions.
